A Southwest Book Store Featuring Southwest Writers

MEMBERS: about readsouthwest.com

Hope Kiah, owner and fouder of readsouthwest.comA site for Author/Book Promotion

The idea for readsouthwest.com™ came in 1998 from writer, teacher, friend (not the actor), and founding member Robin Williams. (I believe that as I write this she is writing her 55th computer/design book!) She suggested that I use my new web design skills to promote local writers and sell their books online via Amazon.com. So I designed the site and included authors, many of whom I have been hosting ever since. This service has been very helpful for writers who have not had much experience with the web and needed a simple solution for author book promotion. For me the business has been a wonderful connection with the Santa Fe literary scene, feeding my vicarious authorship dreams.

The new readsouthwest.com™gives authors the ability to manage the content of their web site, adding books as they are published, and adding/deleting events and comments as needed.

Another fabulous new feature is the RSS feed that is connected to every writer's page, allowing viewers to subscribe to the page and get notification whenever a page is updated. This is a super way to get the attention of search engines and increase traffic. See my new online web marketing site: http://www.webmarketingmavens.com and listen to the podcast! (Or type "podcast on marketing" into iTunes and we show up close to the top.)

The links that go from a readsouthwest.com™ author's page to their main site is a powerful tool in improving the ranking of the main site.

Book lovers have the opportunity to browse readsouthwest.com™ for books that they might not find as easily in bigger venues.
