Inez Ross signed copies of The Bear and the Castle and her latest novel, Persuaded: A Great Lakes Story, at Curwood Castle in Owosso, Michigan, on June 8. The characters in Persuaded travel on Michigan's Carferry, the Badger to cross Lake Michigan between Ludington, Michigan, and Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Ross followed the same route and signed books on the four-hour ferry trip.

Persuaded echoes the plot of Jane Austen's Persuasion, reshaping the characters for modern day with the setting of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Mackinac Island. French and Indian legends combine with modern adventure and romance to ensure an entertaining read.
