John P. Manz

If you like action, historical fiction, and adventure, you will enjoy my work. It’s been described as fast and furious, with lots of twists and turns. I assure you, it was as much fun writing as it is to read! Please enjoy.

Native of New Mexico, but spend twenty-one LONG years away from home. 20 in Dallas, TX and 13 really long cold months in Deephaven, Minnesota, prior to making a return to the mountains of New Mexico.

While in Dallas via my job, I was able to travel extensively in Southeast Asia and made customer visits to: Hong Kong pre and post British rule, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, and Singapore. A wealth beyond value or education is to be found in travel and finding a way to do business in a far away land. (JPM quote 2006)

Since returning to New Mexico, I have found many changes, yet the state remains in many ways as it was thirty years ago. I truly love this place and intend to retain residence here forever more. The world is a vast and wonderful place, but my ties and feelings for New Mexico are far greater.

“Anasazi Gold” is a work of fiction that contains two parallel stories. One takes place in Chaco Canyon 800 years ago and the other is in the present. The two stories tie together and the results of the present impact the past as well. Good virus evil with a love triangle as well.

Anasazi Gold

More than eight hundred years ago, Standing Pine guided his people to the Hopi mesas after losing his beloved Purple Flower to the Aztec warrior “Gold Man.” With his devotion to the Hopi people and the gold of this “land” at stake, Masauwu has waited almost a millennium for the right time and person to fulfill destiny. Since that long ago time the Hopi have sought to reunite these two lost spirits and allow them to bring the life-giving rains that will cleanse their souls and rejuvenate the people. Enter Philo Hodgdon, a native New Mexican with no Hopi blood. He begins a journey into the past to reunite the lost lovers while battling ancient and modern evil to bring the promise of rain to the Hopi. Philo and his friends wage war against all odds, with a reward of gold waiting if they can prevail against the past and present malignant evil.
